The answer to this is multi-layered and personal to you and your situation, but I’ll give you here TWO essential points to keep in mind to get a better understanding of what you’re feeling.
Mama, why don’t you feel good enough? It’s because of societal expectations.
In other words … It’s not your fault! This is a cultural factor, so it doesn’t belong to you. It’s internalized. Hopefully, this already helps you see it in a different way.
It’s not a secret that men have been working hard for centuries to push women to the bottom because they’re scared of female power. As time passed by, unfortunately, women got used to this feeling of inferiority and internalized it, cementing the idea that no matter how much we do, we’ll never be good enough. We get stuck in the constant doing to adapt to a masculine world and neglect our feminine intuitive power.
I’m pretty sure you can relate, right?
Mama, why don’t you feel good enough? It’s because of personal history.
This one is somewhat tied to the first one because, more often than not, the person who contributed to creating this feeling of “not being good enough” is your father.
I see this in many of my clients, so maybe you’ve had a similar experience. The dad is often an authoritarian figure who demands a lot and hardly praises the work. The child does anything possible to prove they’re good enough, and this trend continues in adult life. In some cases, it’s not the father who triggers this feeling but somebody you met along the way: a teacher, a boss, a boyfriend.
Does this resonate with you?
As I mentioned, the search for the root cause of not feeling good enough is personal, but I hope you can start to get the bigger picture around this feeling that is preventing you from stepping into your Empress Mama power - which is your true nature as a powerful, embodied and intuitive woman and mother.
